Background

Multivision Plus is an Indonesian television production company. Set up in 1990 by Raam Punjabi as the television arm of Parkit Films, Multivision Plus popularized the "sinetron" (electronic cinema) concept of soap operas with its "stripping" system (every episode is filmed everyday). Later in 2004, MVP would set up a new feature film division called MVP Pictures, succeeding the original Parkit Films which was dissolved in 1994.

1st Logo (1992-1998)

Visuals: On a black background, a yellow rectangle zooms in and flips up. Two lines appear and paste themselves onto the rectangle, on the top and on the bottom. A purple upside down triangle zooms out and places itself between the two lines. "MVP" in an abstract, geometric font and in black and red appears letter-by-letter and places itself onto the purple upside down triangle. "MULTIVISION" zooms out and places itself below the top line, while "PLUS" zooms out and places itself above the bottom line. A small red rectangle then zooms out and places itself onto the top of "V" from "MVP".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A repeating ascending synth riff with electronic sounds.

Availability: Seen on early sinetrons such as Jin dan Jun, Tersanjung, and others.

Legacy: This is one of the most memorable logos of early Indonesian television.

2nd Logo (1998-2003)

Visuals: On a purple background, the yellow rectangle from before zooms out to the left of the screen, followed by the purple triangle and the "MVP" wordmark pasting themselves on top of it (the wordmark is noticeably revised with the small red rectangle now "embedded" within the "V" instead of being on top of it). The screen then switches to a purple sunburst background with "MULTIVISION PLUS" encircling the center. The "MVP" wordmark alongside the purple triangle behind it flashes into view, followed by the yellow rectangle fading in behind them. "MULTIVISION" and "PLUS" zooms out from the right side and the left side of the screen respectively, "MULTIVISION" pasting itself above the purple triangle and "PLUS" below the triangle. The black lines from before place themselves into their respective locations.

Audio: A re-arranged version of the theme from before.

3rd Logo (2003-2004)

Visuals: On a red sunburst background, pieces of the logo from before, sans the yellow rectangle, are seen revolving in the air. They rotate into place as the yellow rectangle swivels into view behind them. The logo slowly zooms out, revealing the URL "www.multivisionplus.com" below.

Variant: A Prototype version exist.

Audio: A dramatic synthesized fanfare with a majestic finish.

4th Logo (2004-2010)

Visuals: On a pink crystalline background with tunneling circles, pieces of the logo from before, sans the yellow rectangle, revolve in the air. The yellow rectangle swivels into view behind them and they begin to spin together as "MULTIVISION PLUS" in white translucent lettering surrounds them like a ring. After spinning a few times, the pieces stop into their usual positions, forming the logo, and the white "MULTIVISION PLUS" text fades out.
