The Arthur Company

1st Logo (March 10, 1984-1985)

Visuals: On a black background, a star (with the top part of it not being connected to the other parts) with a color trail of reddish-pink and yellow-green following it appears from the right side and zoom out to the left. When the star is about to reach its spot and stop in place, the color of the background fades to dark blue and the words "the rthur company", in a angular typeface, appear with the top part of the star representing the "A" in "Arthur". It then cuts to a IAW mention for Proctor and Gamble Productions, along with a copyright below.

Variant: The starting point of the logo varies from episode to episode.

Technique: Scanimation.

Audio: Soft "swoosh" sounds are heard as the star is zooming out, and a twinkling jingle is heard (with the last note being held for a little while) as the words appear and the background changes color.

Availability: It can be seen on early episodes of Down to Earth, up to early Season 3 episodes.

2nd Logo (1985-1993)

Visuals: On a zooming space background, "The Arthur Company" swoops down from the top middle edge of the screen and moves towards the middle, with the letters in a silver sans font with the "A" lacking its crossbar. Meanwhile, a 3D silver star with rounded corners and a notch below one of the points swoops in from the right and turns towards the camera. As the text settles into place, it arches up and over to the "A" to combine with it, all while leaving a growing rainbow trail just under 2 of the points, and the text shines.

Early uses of the logo on Down To Earth have the PGP copyright screen follow this logo.
Like before, the starting point of the logo varies from episode to episode.
A filmed variant exists.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A rather loud stock whoosh sound before a cymbal clash is heard when the logo forms. A soft chime plays when the text shines.

Audio Variants:

Earlier uses of the logo have the cymbal clash replaced with what sounds like a metal pipe being hit. It also has a softer whoosh and louder twinkling.
Sometimes, there would be some sort of voice-over.
On the Down to Earth episode "Christmas Story", sounds of sleigh bells can be heard once the logo forms.

Availability:

It was seen on The Munsters Today, The New Dragnet, and The New Adam-12 in syndication years ago.
It can also be seen on later episodes of Down to Earth and Rocky Road.
