* On The Riddlers, the logo is on a black background with the text from the Enterprises Production variant placed underneath and surrounded by two thin gold lines.
* On one programme, the Action Time logo is seen underneath Yorkshire's.
* On Wife of The Week, the logo is smaller and the text is also reworded to A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR BRITISH SATELLITE BROADCASTING. Below it is a copyright notice reading COPYRIGHT B.S.B. 1990.

Also on the latter, the copyright notice reading "© CHANNEL 4 TELEVISION CORPORATION (year)" appears below the A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR text.
* On 1991 episodes of Scientific Eye, the text simply just reads A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION.
* On Bruce's Price is Right, the logo is paired with the Talbot Television logo.

Logo: A still version of the 1996 ident where "PRODUCTION" is added underneath the company name and the background, while retaining its cloudiness, has multiple transparent "3"'s.

Variants:
Variants:
* Sometimes, "PRODUCTION" may be reworded to either "PROGRAMME" or "PRESENTATION" (the latter of which was seen at the end of movies and imported programmes such as Home and Away).
* The text may be reworded to the following:
* The 1989 ITV logo also appears below the Yorkshire Television text on networked programmes until October 4, 1998. Also, the 1989 ITV logo is a little vertically stretched on the 1996 and 1998 networked variants.
** "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PROGRAMME"
* From late 1997 to 1998, the ITV URL also sometimes appears on the bottom right of the screen reading "www.itv.co.uk".
** "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRESENTATION"
* Beginning on January 19, 1998, the multiple warped and transparent "3"s were removed with the background being changed to a cloudier backdrop.
** "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR ITV"
* Another variant which was seen on Yorkshire programmes for Channel 4 such as Countdown features the Yorkshire chevron logo and the phrase "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4". Sometimes, there is a copyright notice reading "© CHANNEL 4 TELEVISION CORPORATION [year in Roman numerals]". Also, this variant does not feature the warped and transparent "3"s in the background at all.
** "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PROGRAMME FOR ITV"
** A 1998 variant with the cloudier backdrop also exists.
** "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRESENTATION FOR ITV". The 1989 ITV logo is below on the latter three variants until October 4, 1998.
* Another Countdown variant has text below the #FFD900 chevron that reads "#FFD900".
* The logo may appear as an in-credit logo, sometimes with "CO-PRODUCTION" added underneath.
* Another variant appears on Yorkshire programmes for Channel 4 features the Yorkshire chevron logo and the words "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4", except that the background does not feature the warped figure '3's.
* On 1997 episodes of Bruce's Price is Right, the Fremantle UK Productions logo appears within Yorkshire's logo. Again, this variant also does not feature the warped and transparent "3"s in the background at all.
* One variant used on Countdown lacks the warped "3"'s in the background and also has a copyright stamp reading, CHANNEL 4 TELEVISION CORPORATION [year in Roman numerals]."
* On 1998-2000 episodes of Bruce's Price is Right, the background is black and features either the Fremantle (1998) or Grundy (1999-2000) logos on top of the Chevron.
* On episodes of A Touch of Frost from the period, the text is reworded to "A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH" while the Excelsior logo appears underneath.
* Another Countdown variant has text below the #FFD900 chevron that reads "#FFD900".
* On the TV documentary Spitfire: Lincolnshire to Las Vegas, which aired on May 19, 1997, the Yorkshire chevron logo shares the screen with the Channel 3 North East's "3" logo, and the text is also reworded to "A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION CHANNEL 3 NORTH EAST CO-PRODUCTION".
* On Bruce's Price is Right, the Fremantle UK Productions logo appears within Yorkshire's logo.
* On the Channel 4 Schools programme Planet Earth, the logo appears with the text reworded to "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4 IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE EUROPEAN BROADCASTING UNION" and the copyright notice appearing below. Once again, this variant also does not feature the warped and transparent "3"s in the background at all.

Availability: Seen on programmes by Yorkshire from the time-period until 1999.
* Saved on old shows, like Heartbeat, A Touch of Frost, and Emmerdale, among others.
* Examples include Heartbeat, Countdown, A Touch of Frost, Emmerdale, The Big Bang (original airings only), the final two seasons of The Riddlers (beginning with "Middler's Manison"), and Bruce's Price is Right, among others.
* The Channel 3 North East Co-Production variant was seen on the 1997 TV documentary Spitfire: Lincolnshire to Las Vegas.
* Interestingly, many episodes of Season 4 of Heartbeat use the 1998 production variant of this logo without the 1989 ITV logo when reran on ITV3. This series would have originally used the 1989 logo.

Visuals: There is the same generic Granada darkviolet end card with their corporate logo used by all other Granada-owned regions during this era. The Chevron is used for the shadow copies in the background while the purple square also contains a white Chevron. The text reads "A Yorkshire Television Production".
Nicknames: "Purple Chevron"

Variants:
Logo: We see the same Granada purple end card with the corporate logo used by all other Granada-owned regions, however, the shadow copies are of the Yorkshire chevron symbol, and the square has the white Yorkshire chevron inside with the text reads "A Yorkshire Television Production".
* This could sometimes be seen sharing the screen with ITV's generic "smokey" end credits. This was phased out in 2002 as ITV began using a new style of generic end credits.
* Occasionally, a co-producers name could also be seen under the Yorkshire Television text. Some variants include:
** Excelsior (Seasons 9-11, and some prints of earlier seasons of A Touch of Frost)
** Water Lane Productions (Episode 1 of The Booze Cruise)
** The Isle of Man Film Commission (The Second Quest)
** Excelsior and WGBH/Boston (Season 2 of My Uncle Silas). This variant also has a copyright notice below.
* For programmes that they produced for Channel 4 such as Countdown, the logo is shifted to the left and the 1999 Channel 4 "Square" logo appears on the right of the logo.
** On a December 27, 2005 rerun of the February 13, 2004 episode of Countdown, the 2004 Channel 4 logo plasters the 1999 "Square" logo.
* On some Season 11 episodes of Heartbeat, the text is rephrased to "A Granada Production". The Granada logo is also removed from the bottom.
* Another rare variant where the Granada logo underneath is replaced by the "ITV Studios Limited" text also exists, which is seen on current ITV Studios-era prints of A Touch of Frost.
* On Season 2 episodes of Fat Friends, the Chevron background is missing (and is instead replaced by the same plain background seen on the LWT endcaps Agatha Christie's Poirot used) and the Rollem Productions and 1998 Tiger Aspect Productions logos are seen superimposed next to the Yorkshire Logo. The text is also rephrased here to "Rollem Productions in association with Tiger Aspect Productions and Yorkshire Television". The Granada logo is also not seen at the bottom of this variant.

Technique: A still CGI render.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Availability: Seen on programmes by Yorkshire from the time-period until 2004.
* Examples include Countdown, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, The Royal, A Touch of Frost, and the 2003 TV movie The Brides in the Bath, among others.
* The variant where the Yorkshire Television text is reworded was seen on an October 28, 2001 Yorkshire Television airing of Heartbeat.
* The Excelsior co-production variant is seen on episodes of A Touch of Frost from the era and has also been used to plaster older Yorkshire Television logos on said series.
** The variant with the "ITV Studios Limited" text was also used to plaster over the original version with the "GRANADA" text on current prints of A Touch of Frost episodes from that era.
* It is also seen on the 2002 TV movie A is for Acid and was retained when it repeated on ITV3.
* It was also seen at the end of some prints of the first ever Heartbeat episode "Changing Places", plastering the 5th logo.
* It was also seen at the end of ITV3 airings of the Heartbeat episode "Peace and Quiet", plastering the 1996 variant of the 7th logo.
* The variant with the Rollem Productions and 1998 Tiger Aspect Productions logos next to the Yorkshire Television logo is seen on Season 2 episodes of Fat Friends.
** This has also been left intact on current airings on That's TV.
* The variant with the Isle of Man Film Commission is seen on the TV movie The Second Quest.
* The co-production variant with Excelsior and WGBH Boston is seen on Season 2 episodes of My Uncle Silas.

Yorkshire Television Productions

1st Logo (July 29, 1968-1969)

Opening Variant

Silent Opening Variant

Still Opening Variant

"Network Production" Variant

"Production" Closing Variant

Visuals:

  • Opening: On a black background, a moving white diamond pattern unfolds from the centre of the screen and moves upward and off the screen, leaving behind a Y-shaped chevron. Afterwards, the words "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION" appear below it. This is the same as their station ident from the time just with slightly different phrasing.
  • Closing: A still version of the opening logo with "Network Production" underneath.

Variants:

  • On Parkin’s Patch: The Deserter, the opening logo is still and reads "production" underneath.
  • The "production" variant was also seen on the end of Where There’s Brass, with the next logo oddly being used at the beginning.
  • Sometimes, the "Network Production" text on the closing logo could be in all lower-case.

Technique:

  • Opening: Scanimate.
  • Closing: It appears to be a printed card.

Audio:

  • Opening: A horn sounder ending in a five-note fanfare, which is based off the traditional Yorkshire folk song "On Ilkla Moor Baht'at", composed by Derek New.
  • Closing: The ending theme of the programme.

Musics/Sounds Variants:

  • On Jim Bullock: Miner Extraordinary, the opening logo is silent.
  • On Parkin’s Patch: The Deserter, the opening logo uses the music from the next logo.

Availability:

  • Many programmes from this period are hard to find outside of their original airings, though some archival sites may have shows with this logo intact.
  • Seen on the channel's earliest original programmes such as Where There's Bass, Parkin's Patch: The Deserter, and Jim Bullock: Miner Extraordinary.
  • It was also spotted on Season 1 episodes of The Main Chance on Talking Pictures TV.
    • It is also preserved on the Network DVD of said series.
  • For a brief time, it was used in tandem with the next logo.

2nd Logo (November 15, 1969-1989)

B&W Opening Variant

1969 Opening Variant

Early Trident Byline

Later Trident Byline

"3-2-1" Opening Variant

1982 Opening Variant

1982 Closing Variant

1985 "3-2-1" Opening Variant

"Silent Cries" Variant

Visuals: On a black background, a small Y-shaped chevron appears with "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION Colour Production " underneath it. This is the same as their station ident from the time, just with slightly different phrasing.

Bylines:

1975-1981:
©TRIDENT TELEVISION LTD
(year in Roman Numerals)

This could sometimes be all on one line with the year in Arabic numerals.

Variants:

  • Starting on January 1, 1982, the phrase is shortened to "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION Production" and the chevron logo is also made a bit larger.
  • Sometimes, the 1982 logo has a copyright stamp.
  • Both the 1969 and 1982 "Outside Broadcast" variants also exist.
  • A superimposed variant exists for both the 1969 and 1982 variants.
  • The 1982 opening and closing variants without "PRODCUTION" also exist, with the latter seen at the end of movies and imported programmes.
  • On programmes produced for Channel 4 such as Making the Most of..., early episodes of Countdown, and One Summer, the white text below the yellow chevron reads "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION" and the yellow text below it reads "for Channel Four."
  • On Cartoon Alphabet, the chevron is smaller and the text below also reads "A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR".
  • On Silent Cries, the logo is smaller and in an inverted colour scheme. The phrase "In Association With" also appears below it in black.
  • On many episodes of 3-2-1, the chevron transforms into a rocket which then flies around the screen before ending up in a trash bin, which turns into the show's mascot, "Dusty Bin".
  • On 1985 episodes of 3-2-1-, the logo spins and is covered in snow.

Technique: A printed card or a digital graphic for the standard variants. Cel animation for the 1985 3-2-1 variant.

Audio:

  • Opening: A shortened, five-note horn fanfare based off of the bombastic fanfare used in the previous logo.
  • Closing: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Audio Variants:

  • Starting on January 1, 1982, the fanfare was reorchestrated slightly, with different horns and more prominent drums.
  • On 3-2-1, the logo uses a different version of the fanfare which then segues into the show's opening theme.

Availability: Can still be found on many of Yorkshire Television's shows from the time.

  • 1969 variant:
    • Seen on the first season of That's My Boy, Emmerdale Farm, Francis Howerd in Concert, Frankie Howerd Reveals All, Bloomfield, later episodes of The Main Chance, Life Begins at Forty, Whicker's World, Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World, The Ark Stories, Little Blue, and Only When I Laugh, among others.
    • On current ITV3 airings of Rising Damp, the 1969 closing variant of this logo is plastered by the 2006 ITV Productions logo.
  • 1982 variant:
    • Seen on the early seasons of Countdown, as well as later seasons of That's My Boy, Emmerdale Farm, Cartoon Alphabet, One Summer, Doris, Once in a Lifetime, The Bounder, Silent Cries, Duty Free, Farmhouse Kitchen, Teetime and Claudia, Heggerty Haggerty, The Beiderbecke Affair, Making the Most of..., My Husband and I, and the first two seasons of Ragdolly Anna, among others.
    • The 1982 closing variant of this logo was also seen at the end of an April 24, 2002 airing of a 1983 episode of Duty Free on Granada Plus.
    • The blue variant with the white background was spotted on the original affiliate KNBC airing of the 1993 TV movie Silent Cries, and is also intact on Amazon Prime Video's prints thereof.

Channel Four Variant

"All Change" Variant

Visuals:

  • Opening: On a black background, there is a sea of liquid gold, with a red horizon. The camera then pans upwards as the chevron in CGI emerges from the sea, revolving 180 degrees. Once it finishes rising, a dark blue gradient is revealed and the words "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION Production" appear below in the same arrangement as the 2nd logo, while the chevron turns solid yellow.
  • Closing: This is a still version of the 1987 logo.

Variants:

  • The opening and closing variants exist as both filmed and videotaped versions.
  • Another opening variant with the words "Outside Broadcast" also exists.
  • Opening and closing variants without the word "Production" also exist, with the latter seen at the end of movies and imported programmes.
  • A still variant of the opening logo also exists.
  • Like the idents, Channel 4 co-productions has "Production" replaced with "for Channel Four".
  • On Cloud Waltzing, "MADE IN ASSOCIATION WITH" is added above the logo.
  • As per the 2nd logo, episodes of Countdown would have "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION" in white below the chevron and "for Channel Four" in yellow below that.
  • On the Dramarama episode "Back to Front", the endcap is flipped, so that the text is backwards.
  • On Politics of Food, the bottom text was majorly altered to read:
A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION
FOR CHANNEL 4 IN ASSOCIATION WITH
THE CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION
AND TELEVISION NEW ZEALAND

A green line separates said line of text and the copyright info.

  • On The James Whale Radio Show, the logo is smaller, the words "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION" in white and the words "in association with" in yellow appear below with the Radio Aire logo appearing underneath.
  • On All Change, this logo appears with the 1989 Childsplay Productions logo which then crossfades into the 1989 Yorkshire endcap.
  • A filmed version of the still variant without the word "Production" also exists, which is seen at the end of the International Master Films VHS release of the 1988 TV movie The Attic: The Hiding of Anne Frank.

Technique: CGI for the opening logo. A still CGI render for the closing logo.

Audio:

  • Opening: A horn sounder that gets more and more dramatic, ending with a different arrangement of the Yorkshire fanfare.
  • Closing: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Audio Variants:

  • A shorter version of the 1987 fanfare also exists, which is heard over the still variant of the opening logo.
  • On a 22 June 1989 airing of Where There's Life, the 21 Years music from the 4th logo is heard, due to an editing error.

Availability: Seen on programmes by Yorkshire from the time-period until 1989.

  • Examples include Emmerdale Farm, The Raggy Dolls, First Tuesday, 3-2-1, The New Statesman, Through the Keyhole, Farmhouse Kitchen, Dramarama, Countdown, and the third and final season of Ragdolly Anna, among others.
  • The opening variant was used on all networked programmes by Yorkshire until ITV abolished frontcaps starting on January 1, 1988, and while it can still be seen intact on many Yorkshire programmes from the era, it can be removed from certain prints.
  • The videotaped version of the opening variant is also intact on the 1989 UK VHS release of Tumbledown Farm: Vol 1 from Castle Vision.
  • The filmed version of the opening variant is also intact on the 1988 UK VHS release of The Raggy Dolls 3 from Castle Vision.
  • This logo was also seen on Challenge reruns of 3-2-1 episodes from the era and a special 50th Anniversary ITV3 repeat of classic Emmerdale Farm.
  • The opening and closing variants were also seen on an old Vision TV airing of The Lady's Not for Burning.
  • The filmed version of the closing variant was also seen on a June 19, 1993 rerun of The Beiderbecke Connection on Channel 4.

4th Logo (July-September 1, 1989)

Visuals: On a blue background, half of the golden chevron flies in, the camera pans over it and sees the other half merge together to form the full chevron. It then zooms out as the words "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION" fade in below. This is followed by the text "21 YEARS OF ENTERTAINMENT & EXCELLENCE" zooming out below the logo.

Variants:

  • A still version exists, which was seen at the end of Calendar 21st Party.
  • A later version of the logo also exists, where the logo freezes after the "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION" text appears.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the Yorkshire 21 Years ident.

Audio Variant: On Calendar 21st Party, the sound of an applause from the the audience is heard.

Availability:

  • Still seen on some of Yorkshire's television programmes from the time, such as Emmerdale Farm and Images of Yorkshire, respectively, among other networked programmes.
  • It also made an appearance on an episode of classic Emmerdale Farm on ITV Hub as part of the show's 50th Anniversary celebrations.

  • On Till We Meet Again, the background is solid, the 1989 ITV logo is colourized and the rest of the text is italicized. The copyright notice is also added underneath it.
  • A variant exists, where the normal text is covered up and replaced by the text "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION ENTERPRISES PRODUCTION".
  • On The Riddlers, the logo is on a black background with the text from the Enterprises Production variant placed underneath and surrounded by two thin gold lines.

  • The production variant without the 1989 ITV logo was also seen on an old Challenge airing of the 3-2-1 episode "Ancient Rome", plastering the 1969 variant of the 2nd logo.

  • Beginning on January 19, 1998, the multiple warped and transparent "3"s were removed with the background being changed to a cloudier backdrop.
  • Another variant which was seen on Yorkshire programmes for Channel 4 such as Countdown features the Yorkshire chevron logo and the phrase "YORKSHIRE TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4". Sometimes, there is a copyright notice reading "© CHANNEL 4 TELEVISION CORPORATION [year in Roman numerals]". The Chevron is used for the shadow copies in the background while the purple square also contains a white Chevron. The text reads "A Yorkshire Television Production".

Variants:

  • This could sometimes be seen sharing the screen with ITV's generic "smokey" end credits. This was phased out in 2002 as ITV began using a new style of generic end credits.
  • Occasionally, a co-producers name could also be seen under the Yorkshire Television text. Some variants include:
    • Excelsior (Seasons 9-11, and some prints of earlier seasons of A Touch of Frost)
    • Water Lane Productions (Episode 1 of The Booze Cruise)
    • The Isle of Man Film Commission (The Second Quest)
    • Excelsior and WGBH/Boston (Season 2 of My Uncle Silas). This variant also has a copyright notice below.

  • On some Season 11 episodes of Heartbeat, the text is rephrased to "A Granada Production". The Granada logo is also removed from the bottom.
  • Another rare variant where the Granada logo underneath is replaced by the "ITV Studios Limited" text also exists, which is seen on current ITV Studios-era prints of A Touch of Frost.
  • On Season 2 episodes of Fat Friends, the Chevron background is missing (and is instead replaced by the same plain background seen on the LWT endcaps Agatha Christie's Poirot used) and the Rollem Productions and 1998 Tiger Aspect Productions logos are seen superimposed next to the Yorkshire Logo. The text is also rephrased here to "Rollem Productions in association with Tiger Aspect Productions and Yorkshire Television". The Granada logo is also not seen at the bottom of this variant.

Technique: A still CGI render.

  • On Yorkshire Brass, the background is slightly different and the 2004 ITV Yorkshire logo shares the screen with the BNT Productions logo. The text is also reworded to "BNT Productions in association with ITV".
