Background
Hallmark Entertainment was formed in 1994 by Hallmark Cards when it acquired the assets of RHI Entertainment and merged with Signboard Hill Productions to form one company. It also had its own distribution arm on home video, Hallmark Home Entertainment, with Evergreen Entertainment acting as a sublabel. In 1995, it acquired Filmation's library, later selling it to Entertainment Rights in 2004. In 2006, the founders reacquired the company, which reclaimed the RHI Entertainment name.

1st Logo (October 8, 1994-September 28, 1996) | 2nd Logo (November 5, 1995-2005) | 3rd Logo (1999, 2004-Early 2006) |
1st Logo (October 8, 1994-September 28, 1996)
Visuals: On a stylized brown fabric or black background, a "gold" plate with the word "HALLMARK" on it backwards fills the screen. As the camera backs away, it's revealed to be a stamp that stamps a silver rectangle as the image turns around. The rectangle continues to rotate until it stops in the center, revealing the following text on it with lines above and below it reading "HALLMARK ENTERTAINMENT".
Variants:
- Sometimes, either the text "Distributed By" or "In Association With" fades in after the logo forms.
- A filmed version exists.
- Sometimes, this logo is videotaped.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: None or the ending theme. NBC airings used a generic theme.
Availability:
- This was used on then-contemporary reprints of Filmation shows of that time like Fat Albert or He-Man. Later prints remove it completely.
- It also appeared on UPN's short lived series Live Shot and on TV movies that they produced such as Bye Bye, Birdie.
2nd Logo (November 5, 1995-2005)
Visuals: On a black background, a stylized "H" made of ribbons, which is surrounded by a box, zooms in. "HALLMARK ENTERTAINMENT" in a Times New Roman font also moves up and places itself under the box. When it's completed, the logo zooms back a bit.
Variants:
- A filmed version exists.
- Sometimes, "Distributed by" or "In Association With" appears above the logo.
- At the beginning of some TV movies, "PRESENTS" appears below.
- Occasionally, the copyright stamp is omitted.
- A true 16:9 widescreen version exists.
- There is a version where the logo appears on a dusty light yellow background. The border is smaller while the text is much larger, and both are in black.
- On Back to the Secret Garden, the logo is slowed down significantly compared to usual.
Technique: CGI.
Audio:
- 1995-1998: A 8-note orchestral theme performed by Irwin Fisch.
- 1997-2005: A short flourish fanfare from Devo frontman Mark Mothersbaugh.
- Sometimes, the end theme plays over it, or the logo is silent.
- CBS and NBC airings and ABC airings starting in 1998 used a generic theme.
Availability: It was seen on TV shows and movies made by Hallmark Entertainment of the era.
- It's retained on DVD releases of The Secret World of Alex Mack and Farscape.
- This can be seen on the 1996 TV movie pilot of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, which despite being produced by Viacom Productions (like its TV show) is surprisingly not owned by CBS these days.
- On recent prints of Alice in Wonderland (1999 TV movie), the Sonar Entertainment logo plasters this one.
- The IAW variant appeared on the original CBS airing of Get To The Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story.
3rd Logo (1999, 2004-Early 2006)
Visuals: Essentially just the text "HALLMARK ENTERTAINMENT" in the same style as before fading in on a black background.
Variant: On The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the word "presents" fades in below.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: None or the end theme of the show/TV movie.
Availability: It was originally seen on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as an opening version. It was later used on A Christmas Carol, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, The Poseidon Adventure, Earthsea and Larry Levinson-produced TV movies from the era.
