Video Form Pictures
1st Logo (1982-1985)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a blue/black bar "flip" into the screen, and just after that happens the red words "VIDEO" "FORM" and "PICTURES" flip in as well. Then it compresses into the center of the screen, and uncompresses again very quickly. After it uncompresses the blue word "presents" zooms in from the center of the screen and takes its place at the bottom of the screen.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: A five-note synth fanfare, with a note playing each time something flips in.
Availability:
- Seen on the UK pre-cert VHS release of Hangar 18.
- It also appears on the 1982 UK pre-cert VHS release of Firebird 2015 A.D. as well.
2nd Logo (1985-1988)
Visuals: In a dark environment, dark clouds of smoke loom below as spots of light appear, revealing a giant blue monolith. The camera slowly moves towards the monolith as the environment brightens into a blue color. The monolith also shines during this time. The monolith then moves slightly to the right, in which the camera angle changes to the monolith at a slanted angle. As the monolith rotates, it slowly reveals itself as a large "V". When it stops at a angle, a large, white, triangle-shaped flash emerges from the cut and reveals a orange triangle wedged into it (the flash also turns orange before disappearing). A light then emerges from it and spreads out to reveal "ViDEOFORm" in a white futuristic font with the "V" in the same design as the giant one. In the bottom right part of the text is either "PiCTURES" or "mUSiC" in the same font. The light and smoke continues to move slightly as it fades out.
Technique: Possibly live-action and computer animation hybrid.
Audio: A ominous synth drone that plays over a chime tune. Thunder can be heard at the beginning and one last drone hit plays when the light emerges.
Availability:
- Seen on later pre-cert releases from the UK, such as The Last Starfighter.
- The Music variant can also be seen on music titles as well.
