Background

Dimension Films released its output on home video through Buena Vista Home Video, first through Miramax Home Entertainment. In 1996, Buena Vista created Dimension Home Entertainment for video releases of Dimension's output. The company became a part of The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment when the Weinstein brothers left Mramax in 2005. Dimension Home Entertainment was more than likely done in by the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Visuals: On a black background, a set of blueish lines zoom out in the left side of the screen. As it zooms out, it gradually lights up to reveal that it is the word "DIMENSION" in a bold, italic Eurostile font. When the logo reaches a comfortable distance, it lights up completely as one of the following two home video indicators wipes underneath it, in spaced-out letters:

  • January 3, 1996-January 17, 2006: "H O M E V I D E O", chyroned in and videotaped.
  • April 11, 2006-2017: "H O M E E N T E R T A I N M E N T", digitally added.

Variant: There are full-screen and "matted" widescreen variants of both versions.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It can be seen on home entertainment output from this company. The "HOME VIDEO" variation first appeared on Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back and was last seen on The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D, and the "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" variant first appeared on the American DVD of Wolf Creek.
