Background

This was a label of Random House Home Video used for that company's VHS releases of the 1985 Berenstain Bears show, released between 1988 and 1989. It was re-used twice, first in 1999, when Columbia TriStar Home Video released 3 volumes of the series, and again in 2008/2009, when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released a DVD release of the series entitled The Berenstain Bears: Kindness, Caring and Sharing.

Logo (1988-1989, 1999, 2008-2009)

Visuals: On a blue gradient background, the The Berenstain Bears logo, which is just "The Berenstain Bears" in a cursive font, is seen. After a second, the logo shifts up to make room for the First Time Video logo as it flies in below. The logo has Brother Bear's head shown at the side within a tube shape, along with "FIRST TIME VIDEO" below in a sketchy font, all of it on a cartoony plank of wood. It resembles the "First Time Books" logo on older copies of The Berenstain Bears books.

Technique: 80s computer effects.

Audio: The last notes of the show's theme song "We Are the Berenstain Bears" in instrumental form, composed by Elliot Lawrence.

Availability: Seen on tapes of The Berenstain Bears (1980s series) from Random House Home Video. It also appeared on Columbia TriStar Home Video volumes as well, as they re-use the Random House prints. This logo makes a appearance on the 2008/2009 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment DVD release of The Berenstain Bears: Kindness, Caring and Sharing, also likely due to the re-use of Random House's VHS prints.
