Background
Kids Play was a Swiss home entertainment company and a subsidiary of Gruezi Music AG. They are known for releasing Dingo Pictures movies on VHS and DVD.
Logo (2003)
Visuals: A still of the "DVD" bumper used by Marcon Media (the green background variant) fades in. A second later, the bumper animates as normal. The animation plays again, but while it does so, the Kids Play logo (a drawing of a child's head with spiky hair and his tongue sticking out with "kids play" below it) falls down, spinning, before bouncing across the bottom of the screen. It then zooms in to the middle of the screen as it spins again. The background fades to black, leaving just the logo, which then fades out.
Trivia: The footage used for the background has dot crawl and the video tracking is visible at the top, indicating that it may have been recorded off of a DVD player. On most DVDs with this logo (which have German, English and French tracks), the film itself (sans custom-made credits) is also affected by this.
Variants:
- On a (presumably unreleased) Chinese-dubbed DVD of Artige Katzen (and possibly the original Swiss DVD of the film), the Kids Play logo is stretched and changes to a slightly zoomed-in image after it hits the middle of the screen. In addition, the "kids play" text is black with a faint white border, and some parts of the logo (such as the holes of the "s") are white.
- On the RYM Musique Vidéo DVD of Wabou le Raton Laveur Espiègle, the logo is sped-up and cut to when the Kids Play logo appears.
Technique: Computer effects, with the footage itself being CGI.
Audio: A jungle-like tune.
Audio Trivia: A full version of the music from the standard variant plays on the menu of their DVDs.
Audio Variant: The Wabou le Raton Laveur Espiègle variant has the first half of the music from the RYM Musique Vidéo logo.
Availability:
- Can be seen on DVD releases from the company, such as Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten and Der Prinz von Ägypten.
- Also appears on the aforementioned Chinese-dubbed DVD of Artige Katzen and the RYM Musique Vidéo DVD of Wabou le Raton Laveur Espiègle.
- VHS releases by them likely do not have a logo.
