Colourbox Video

Logo (August 11, 1987-1990's)

Visuals: On a black background, the text "COLOURBOX" appears in a tall grey/blue gradient coloured font, in which almost the entire screen is overtaken by. It fades out and is replaced with the much smaller "V - I - D - E - O" colored cornflower blue and in a different, shorter font. It has large spaces to fill the span of the screen, with dots that fill in the spaces a bit. Then that fades out, and 3 differently coloured boxes fade in and start rolling towards each other with a blur effect. The red one comes from the top, the yellow one from the left, and the blue one from the left. They eventually rest in the middle of the screen, arranged in a uneven order. A long white box then appears to surround the cubes, along with "COLOURBOX" and "V - I - D - E - O" appearing in a thin white font, but stylized like the text in the beginning. The logo stays still for several seconds before the box fades out and the cubes start rolling backwards with the same trail effect, effectively animating backwards.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A light metal rock tune, with what sounds like flutes at some point playing and a powerful strike when the box and text appear, which eventually fades out.

Availability: It can be seen on British VHS copies of several horror B-movies, like Intruders, Ghosthouse (II), The Jitters, Don't Panic, and more.
