ArTel Home Video

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (1980-1985)

Visuals: On a black background, 2 hot pink tubes cut in half slide from the top and bottom of the screen. While this is happening, another pair of the same shapes slide from the left and right, but with cuts on the sides instead, all while the animation slowly zooms out of the camera. When all four shapes have overlapped their slices, "ArTel Home Video bv", with "ArTel" in hot pink, fades in a abstract outlined font, and "presenteert" appears below the company's name.

Variant: There is a English version of this logo where "presenteert" is replaced with "PRESENTS" in a computerized fashion.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A funky '70s instrumental.

Availability: Seen on a British tape of Tintin Temple of the Sun and a Dutch tape of The Adventures of Tintin.
