Background

2 Entertain is a British music and video publisher, founded in September 2004, following a merger between BBC Video and Video Collection International. BBC Worldwide owned sixty percent of the company, until 2010, when the company purchased the forty percent of the company that they did not own from The Woolworth Group. As of November 2013, the 2 Entertain name is only used on the occasional non-BBC release.

(2004-)

Logo: On a black background, a few bright flashes occur at the bottom. Then, the words "2¦entertain", zoom out one-by-one, all while the flash continues to occur. The flash then dies down.

Variants:

  • On Blu-ray releases, the words "HIGH DEFINITION" appear during the final flash of light.
  • On Clarkson: The Italian Job, the logo appears smaller and still, and is in white.

FX/SFX: The flash and zooming words. Simple but very effective CGI.

Music/Sounds: A series of calm synth noises with a 4-note synth tune in between.

Availability: Common. Was seen on BBC DVD releases in the UK as well as some American ones from 2004 to 2012. It sometimes plasters The Video Collection/International logos. Also seen on Thomas and Friends DVDs and VHS tapes from 2004 to 2008, as well as Roary the Racing Car and Fifi and the Flowertots VHS tapes and DVDs.

Editor's Note: This logo has insanely good CGI for 2004.
