Background

Sabah International, also known as Sabah CDs, is a home entertainment distributor from Peshawar, Pakistan largely specialized in Pashto-language films.

1st Logo (1980s)

Visuals: On a black background, the word "SABAH" is shown in the style of an arc, flashing in multiple colors. Below is "INT" and "PESHAWAR", similarly flashing like the above text. At the bottom, "PH217777" is shown in red.

Technique: Early computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Da Inteqaam Lumbay.

2nd Logo (2000s)

Visuals: On a black background is the multicolored word "SABAH" followed by the red "CDs", the cyan "PEAHAWAR", and the plum "PH 217777" below. The animation varies depending on the release.

Variants:

  • The most common version features most of the "SABAH" letters, except the "H", spinning and flipping around while zooming in, with "PEAHAWAR" and "PH 217777" moving below in similar manners. The word "CDs" rotates 180 degrees surrounding the logo and then places itself near the center. The logo may abruptly cut to the warning screen before everything is settled in.
  • One release starts with the logo already settled in. Suddenly it turns into a sphere which zooms away slowly, and it breaks. Then the title card of the video warps in at an ascending pace.
  • One release starts with the still logo, then the screen divides into multiple 3D circles which separate into individual pieces and rotate. A TV-like screen containing the same logo then rises up from the segments and zooms into view, ending the logo in a loop-like fashion.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A snippet of Helping Hands by John Hobbs which was released by Universal Production Music. The length of the music depends on the variant.

Availability: Seen on Pashto VCDs and DVDs, such as Da Shago and Loor Da Shaitan.

3rd Logo (Late 2000s)

Visuals: On a navy blue background, the names of the company appear rotating from the center to the left, with the Pashto writing for "SABAH" above and the English names "SABAH INTERNATIONAL" and "PESHAWAR" in white below, along with the phone number. Multiple circling white lights are shown moving around the logo. The logo zooms out, before it rotates away.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A short version of the theme from before.

Availability: Seen on their DVD of Azab.
