Background

AB Vidéo was the home media division of The AB Groupe.



1st Logo (Late 80's-1998)


Visuals: On a black background, there is the AB logo with the text "VIDEO" in metallic gray, and the text "PRESENTE" shown at the bottom.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (1998-2005)


Visuals: On a black background, there is the AB logo zooming in, with the outline of the same logo zooming out. A spot shines through it, then multiple outlines stretch out of its center. After a few seconds, "VIDEO" zooms in with a trail effect. The text "présente" falls off the top of the screen and passes through the logo, until it disappears.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A bang, then a futuristic synth pad theme completed with whooshes, ending by a drum roll.

Availability: Unknown. Most of their releases during the era have the TF1 Vidéo logo instead. [Examples?]

3rd Logo (2005-2018)


Visuals: Various blue, white and red light streaks fly all over the screen, then form the AB logo. It ends up flashing, and "VIDEO" appears below it in a trail effect. The logo slowly zooms out on a star/space-like background, while "PRESENTE" flashes below the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A simple electronica tune.

Availability: Seen on most current releases from the company, such as French DVD and/or Blu-ray releases of animes like Dragon Ball and its sequel Dragon Ball Z, Seinto Seiya, Fist of the North Star, and Sailor Moon.
