National Films

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (December 1, 1957)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a bunch of faint smoke rising. Few seconds later, there is a statue of Hindu god Shiva doing the Tandava slowly zooming towards the camera. As it does that, the company's name slowly appears in front of the statue, with the word "NATIONAL" in a slanted form, and the word "films" in a cursive font.

Closing Variant: The company name doesn't appear.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: A dark string theme as well as a man singing and a deep bell accompanying the man.

Availability: Seen only on Tasher Ghar.

Legacy: This opening variant is known to the community as unintentionally horrifying, due to the audio, and the fact we can't even see the logo because of the severe deterioration.

2nd Logo (October 8, 1959)

Visuals: Over a cloudy/stormy background is the company's name in Bengali, which is curved out. Few seconds later is once again the Shiva statue fading and zooming in. It then fades to black.

Technique: Live-action for the clouds and statue, static for the text.

Audio: Same as the 1st logo, but with the 1st part being cut out.

Availability: Seen only on Sonar Harin.
