Background

This is the production company of Sidney Kimmel, founded in 2004.

1st Logo (September 9, 2005-January 11, 2007)

Visuals: On a picture of a skyline at night, there is a filmstrip and a clapperboard assembled together to look like a "K", which is illuminated by a white light behind it. Underneath, there is the name:

S I D N E Y K I M M E L
E N T E R T A I N M E N T

Variant: On Neverwas, the logo is in a gold color and zooms out.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on four films: Trust the Man, Griffin & Phoenix, Alpha Dog and Neverwas.

2nd Logo (November 10, 2006-)

Visuals: The sun rises through the crown of a tree in a yellow-orange rectangular box, spreading everywhere and making it visible. Below the box, "Sidney Kimmel" is in hand-written italics with "E N T E R T A I N M E N T" below in a regular font.

Variants:

  • There is a prototype version where the tree stem zooms out to reveal the tree, which shines and the same words fade in. It only appeared on Copying Beethoven.
  • An abbreviated variant exists, where the name is collapsed to "SKE". This can be seen on the trailer for Charlie Bartlett.
  • The variant with "SKE" in orange italics appears on the trailer for Talk to Me and on the movie Breach
  • A print version is used as a closing logo and still appears even after the opening animation was changed in 2007.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It appears on Charlie Bartlett, Death at a Funeral and other titles. It seems to be replaced by the 3rd logo since 2007, but the closing version still appears in the closing credits of films, like One for the Money and Gone.

3rd Logo (September 12, 2007-)

Visuals: The blue letter "K" (in the same design as the first logo, only without the sprockets) flies and zooms to a blue light spot, where it becomes flat. The company name appears below, in the same font as the first logo. The background light shines until the logo ends.

Byline: Starting in 2017, the byline "AN SK GLOBAL COMPANY" was added to the logo.

Variants:

  • As with the previous logo, a still and abbreviated variant exists. They are seen on newer trailers and on the film Unthinkable.
  • In this logo's later years, the sprockets have returned.
  • On some films beginning with I, Frankenstein, the animation plays as normal, but the letters "S" and "E" are shown in blue like the logo forming "SKE". Also, a white line is seen with the word "FILMS" below it.
  • A print version of this logo exists.
  • An in-credit version exists.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A four-note guitar theme or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: It made its debut on Married Life and has appeared on every film since.
