Background

Fümoto Kft. was a Hungarian VHS and VCD distributor based in Budapest. Founded in 1992, it mainly released older Western European and Hungarian cartoons, along with a few anime series as well. The company went dormant in the early 2000s, although its trademark was still registered as of 2013.[1]

Logo (1992-Early 2000s)

Visuals: A turquoise brick wall fades in. 5 VHS tapes flip in from below and plaster themselves and fade into one of the bricks, one after the other. The sixth tape, after it does the same, flips towards the viewer. The blank part of the tape then fills with blue and the word "FÜMOTO" plasters itself on the tape from the right.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A percussion-based synth theme with trombones; possibly a library track, a shortened version of which was also used in the Tower Video logo.

Availability: Seen on cartoons and anime distributed by the company on VHS and VCD, such as Delphi and Friends, Hello Sandybell and the 1999-2000 VHS releases of Pom Pom meséi.
