Background
Tigon Studios is a video game developer founded in 2002 by actor Vin Diesel. The company is owned by Diesel's film and multimedia production company One Race Films and is known for Wheelman, The Chronicles of Riddick games (based on the Riddick franchise), and the infamous Fast and Furious Crossroads. The company was reactivated again by Diesel in September 2013.
The company's name was derived from the Tigon, a hybrid born from a male tiger and female lion and the opposite of a liger (male lion and female tiger).
1st Logo (June 1, 2004)
![]() | This logo contains a jump scare at 0:02. |
Visuals: On a black background, the sounds of growling are heard. Suddenly, a tigon's face pops up, as its face moves. Then the tigon's face fades out as two dots move and form the Tigon Studios logo, which is a blue "T" with two silver half arches over it and the silver words
S T U D I O S
"T I G O N" has a blue outline. The "T" then zooms up and stops as the logo shines.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Growling and roaring sounds of the tigon, and a sliding ding when the logo shines.
Availability: Only seen on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay for the Xbox and PC.
2nd Logo (March 24, 2009-)
Visuals: On a gradient black background, a tigon suddenly pops up and roars at the screen. It roars again, and two half arches come together forming the blue-silver "T" from the previous logo, and the text from before appears. The "T" shines as well.
Variants:
- An almost-still version with only the logo shining appears on Wheelman and Riddick: The Merc Files.
- The logo is still with no shining on Fast and Furious Crossroads.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Roaring sounds from the tigon, and a clash when the "T" forms, as well as a similar slide ding.
Availability: Can be found on Wheelman and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC and Riddick: The Merc Files for iOS and Android.
