Background

Pathécomedy was a subsidiary of Pathé Frères founded in 1914, specializing in the production of comedies and humorous short films.

Logo (December 15, 1914-August 22, 1926)


Visuals: There is a chicken, moving a bit. Then there are the words "Pathécomedy" or "Pathépicture", with the tops of the "t" and "h" connected and a line below. Below all that is a circle with a rooster drawing in a crowing stance with "TRADE" and "MARK" on either side of it.

Variant: On some films, such as Nanook of the North, omit the live-action footage of the rooster.

Technique: Live-action, followed by a still painted graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the film.

Availability: Seen on films made by the company, such as Nanook of the North, Grandma's Boy, The Freshman, and Crazy Like a Fox.
