Nea Kinisi Video

Logo (1986-1990)

Visuals: The logo starts with what appears to be a person picking up a feather off of the ground. This clip then moves on to a liquid background, which transforms into a video clip of launching fireworks. A black background with stars is then displayed, and a pink letter "N" is formed on it. The letter N seems to continue forming below itself, and then a multicolored chyron trail moves from above onto the N, causing it to turn blue. A separate chyron trail then forms beside the N as a thick diagonal line facing the top right. Another chyron trail is then formed below that line in the form of an adjacent line. Both of these lines appear as a "K", in a darker blue color with white dots on the left and right of each line. One line in the K is a darker blue than the "N" and the other line. The logo is sparkling as all of this is happening. The letters "V-i-D-E-O" appear from above, each letter possessing their own chyron trail, and eventually lie flat on the logo. The letters are yellow and orange, split in half with each color. The text "ΝΕΑ ΚΙΝΗΣΗ" appears below the logo and is encased on a long, dark blue polygon. The word "ViDEO" continues to sparkle intensely.

Technique: Live-action and chyron animation.

Audio: The intro to "Lady C" by the Greek rock band Oriones.

Availability: Seen on VHS tapes from this company. Nea Kinisi mainly distributed films from Atlantic Releasing Corporation and De Laurentiis Entertainment Group such as Near Dark, Raw Deal, Trick or Treat, and Alphabet City.
