1st Logo (1970s)

Logo: On a blue background, the names "Sandy Cobe" and "David Baughn" (in lowercase) zoom in at the top of the screen, while "present" appears below. We cut to the text "An Intercontinental Film Release" (also in lowercase) on the upper left while a world map atop a blank rectangle appears on the bottom right. The logo holds before fading out.

Technique: The names sliding in.

Music/Sounds: A golden-age cartoon-like fanfare, then an extended drum beat followed by a gong.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen only on IRC releases from the 1970s, and there is no guarantee it will be preserved on current prints.

2nd Logo (1980s)

Logo: On a blue background, we see the letters "I", "R", and "C" drawn with white lines on a fancy style. Avobe the letters, there is a representation of the Earth with lines. Then, the phrase "INTERCONTINENTAL RELEASING CORPORATION" in white colour appears under the logo. A few seconds after, "PRESENTS" fades in.

Variants:

  • The logo would be set on a black background with yellow lines
  • There is also a variant on which the text is seen over the logo, not under it.

Technique: None, just the things fading on this logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Ultra rare. Was seen on B-movies from the early 80s. The best source for this logo is the early Media Home Entertainment releases of their films.

3rd Logo (Late 1980s)

Logo: On a black background, we see a globe made out of a filmstrip, with the "TM" symbol below the globe to the right. Then the words

INTERCONTINENTAL RELEASING CORPORATION
PRESENTS

fade in below the globe.

Technique: The fading in of the globe and words.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Ultra rare. Seen on a VHS of Open House.

4th Logo (1990s)

Logo: On a black background, we see the globe from before, with the text below:

INTERCONTINENTAL
---RELEASING
------------------CORPORATION

The logo then shines once.

Technique: The shining.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: So far, seen on KID.
