Background
Zen Studios is a Hungarian video game developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software with headquarters in Budapest, Hungary and offices in the United States. It is known for its game franchises, Pinball FX and Zen Pinball, as well as CastleStorm, a tower defense hybrid which received the Apple Store's Editor’s Choice award. It was formed in 2003.
Logo (October 9, 2007-)
Visuals: On a black background, there are three squares, colored orange, gray and red respectively. Inside each square are the white letters "z", "e" and "n", which resembles the word "zen", respectively. Underneath it is the word "STUDIOS" in white. A trademark symbol is shown on the upper-right corner of the third square.
Variants:
- Sometimes, a copyright notice will appear below.
- On Circus Electrique, the logo starts with two lightbulbs being switched on. An electrical object starts turning on while the camera pans to the right. Suddenly, the object starts to electrocute the word "zen", causing a system shock effect. Afterwards, the lights on the word "zen" are turned on, which reveals that the entire thing takes place on a circus, with a red and yellow ball being seen on a background. Then it fades into the logo. The entire logo has an old film effect applied to it.
- A commonly used animated variant existed on games developed for the 3DS. Here, the squares flip into the screen one by one, each flashing when the stop and forming the letters. "STUDIOS" then fades in, and then the logo zooms out.
Technique: A still, digital graphic. CGI for the animated variant and the Circus Electrique variant.
Audio: A four-note tune with a long synth note playing in the background, or none.
Audio Variant: On Circus Electrique, a sound of a light being switched on is heard first, then circus music starts to play on the background, followed by electrical sounds, then a crowd cheering at the end.
Availability: First appeared on Flipper Critters and seen on the games developed and published by the company since then.
