Background

WFXT, operated on channel 25 and formerly WXNE-TV, is a television station in Boston, Massachusetts, affiliated with Fox and owned by Cox Media Group. It was originally the network's O&O station due to the station's market size (from 1987-1990, 1995-2014), but then due to a swap with KTVU-TV, it got out as just a normal affiliate and became the largest Fox affiliate to not be owned by the network. The station's branded itself as "Boston 25" since then.

1st Logo (1987-1988)

Visuals: The generic FOX ident template is seen, with the station's channel number being "25", the call-sign being "WFXT-TV", and the city being "Boston".

Variant: There's a variant where here, the number "25", the gold word "WFXT", and the white text "Fox Television Stations, MA", from top to bottom, are seen on a wavy dark blue background.

Technique: CGI, still for the variant

Audio: A dramatic fanfare, which is also used for the other stations' variants of the template.

2nd Logo (1990-1992)

Visuals: There are two variants:

  • a: Rectangles, including green and purple ones; the word "FOX", which has orange shade on the sides; and the silver number "25", are seen moving sides-to-sides with some comet stars flying down meanwhile. A green rectangle and purple rectangle then both reveal a big vertical rectangle move forward a bit with three objects land to parts of it:
    • The word "FOX" lands on the top silver part
    • The number "25" lands on the middle green part
    • The white text "WFXT TV BOSTON" with some gray lightning on it lands on the bottom purple part
  • b: TBA.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Unknown.
