Background

CHUM Television was a division of CHUM Limited, the former owners of Citytv, MuchMusic, and Space, among others. On July 12, 2006, Bell Globemedia announced an acquisition of CHUM, with the company being renamed to CTVglobemedia on January 1, 2007. The Citytv stations were sold off to Rogers Communications. The deal was completed on June 22, 2007.

1st Logo (2001-2006)

Logo: On a black background, we see a rapidly flashing purple square in the middle of the screen. The word "CHUM" in a large font flips letter by letter, with the spaced-out word "T E L E V I S I O N" below.

FX/SFX: The square is live action, while the text is computer generated.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the program.

Availability: Rare. Seen at the end of CHUM programming, such as CityPulse Tonight, the MuchMusic Video Awards, and their Digital Specialty Promos.

2nd logo (2006-June 22, 2007)

Logo: Same as the CHUM Motion Pictures, but the sped-up version CHUM TELEVISION with copyright date.

FX/SFX: Same as the CHUM Motion Pictures logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on CP24 shows and also seen at the end of CityPulse Tonight and MuchOnDemand.
