Background

Warner Max was a short-lived label of Warner Bros. Pictures, which released indie films to HBO Max. It was launched with HBO Max on May 27, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the label didn't meet its goal of 10-14 films in 2020, and was discontinued on October 23rd of that year, with its slate being taken over by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. Despite the discontinuation of the label in October, its last film, Superintelligence, was released on November 26, 2020.

1st Logo (May 27, 2020)

Logo: The text "warnermax" fades in against a dark purple background with slight movement.

Technique: Basic animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. It was only seen on On the Record. It's likely this was just a placeholder for the next logo.

2nd Logo (August 6-November 26, 2020)

Logo: Against a purple background, two metal beams zoom out and rotate toward us, revealing that they are the letters "W" and "M", in the shape of the 2019 Warner Bros. shield. The Warner Max wordmark from the previous logo fades in, with the "max" sliding in from behind the "warner". The logo shines.

Technique: Simple, yet effective CGI.

Music/Sounds: A synth piece, revolving around a simple four note melody.

Availability: Rare. It only appeared on later Warner Max releases, until the label was discontinued.
