Argentina

1st Bumper (1993-2006)


Visuals: On a white background, an image of Mickey, Donald, and Pluto appear via a circle effect. The respective bumper text zooms out on the top-left side of the screen.

Bumpers:

  • "Preparate para la pelicula" ("Prepare for the movie"), in a yellow-green gradient color.
  • "Disponible en video" ("Available on video"), in a red-orange gradient color.
  • "PROXIMAMENTE EN VIDEO" ("SOON ON VIDEO"), in a red-orange gradient color. This variant has the text zoom in on a black background.

Trivia: The images of Mickey, Donald and Pluto featured on this bumper come from the Walt Disney Cartoon Classics releases "Here's Mickey", "Here's Donald" and "Here's Pluto" respectively.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The 1991 Italian bumper theme. In the "PROXIMAMENTE EN VIDEO" variant, the 1993 UK bumper theme plays.

Availability: Seen on Argentine tapes during the time, such as The Lion King (El Rey León), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (El Jorobado de Notre Dame), and The Wild (Vida Salvaje).

Brazil

1st Bumper (1993-1996)


Visuals: Over a red background is the white text "ASSISTA AGORA A MAIS UM CLÁSSICO WALT DiSNEY" ("NOW WATCH ANOTHER WALT DISNEY CLASSIC" in Portuguese), with "WALT DiSNEY" in its corporate font.

Technique: Digital graphic.

Audio: The 1991 Italian bumper theme.

Availability: Can be found on Brazilian VHS tapes from Abril Vídeo from the era, including Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland (Alice no País das Maravilhas).

2nd Bumper (1994-1996)

Visuals: On a blue background, there is some text in Times New Roman.

Bumpers:

  • BREVE ("COMING SOON") (early variant)
  • Em Breve ("Coming Soon") (later variant)
  • JÁ À VENDA ("NOW ON SALE")

Variant: On later releases, the background is a black-blue gradient, and the text is in a different font.

Technique: Digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be found on Brazilian VHS tapes from Abril Vídeo from the era, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Branca de Neve e os Sete Anões) andDonald's Birthday Bash (O Aniversário do Pato Donald).

3rd Bumper (1995)

Visuals: On a black background, the bumper is in a yellow Helvetica Black font.

Bumpers:

  • ESTRÉIA NOS CINEMAS JULHO - 95 ("PREMIERE IN CINEMAS JULY - 95")
  • JÁ À VENDA

Technique: Digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only seen in the 1995 Brazilian VHS release of The Lion King (O Rei Leão).

4th Bumper (1996–1999)


Visuals: On a colored striped background, the respective bumper is in a metallic Bookman Old Style font.

Bumpers:

  • BREVE NOS CINEMAS ("COMING SOON TO THEATERS")
  • BREVE À VENDA ("COMING SOON ON SALE")
  • JÁ À VENDA
  • ASSISTA AGORA O FILME ("WATCH THE FILM NOW")
  • Assista após o filme imagens ineditas de como foi feito o clássico Disney A Dama e o Vagabundo ("Watch after the film unpublished images of how the Disney classic Lady and the Tramp was made")

Variants:

  • On 1997 VHS releases, the "BREVE NOS CINEMAS" variant has a black background for and the text is in a yellow Century Gothic-like font.
  • On 1997-1999 VHS releases, "BREVE NOS CINEMAS" is enhanced.
  • 1997-1999 VHS releases have a blue-tinted Disney Videos logo pattern against a purple gradient background, and the text is in a Times New Roman font.

Audio Variant: On the 1996 Brazilian VHS releases of Pocahontas and The Fox and the Hound:

  • Coming Soon to Cinemas/Feature Presentation: The 1991 Walt Disney Home Video logo music plays over the bumper.
  • Coming Soon to Video/Now Available on Video: The 1993 UK/Ireland Feature Presentation ID music plays over the bumper.

Availability: Seen on some Brazilian Disney videos from this era such as Toy Story, Hercules (Hércules) and James and the Giant Peach (James e o Pêssego Gigante).

5th Bumper (1997-1999)


Visuals: The sequence starts out with a flash that reveals a theater, and the camera flies down the aisle. The camera then cuts to a view of the curtains opening from below. The next shots focus on the projection booth flashing a blue light to the screen. Finally, the curtains open up.

Technique: Live-action footage.

Audio: A deep note sounding similar to the THX logo, with some whooshes that coincide with the actions and an announcer saying "Em breve num cinema perto de você..." ("Coming soon to a cinema near you...").

Availability: Seen on some Brazilian Buena Vista VHS releases, such as Oliver & Company (Oliver e sua Turma) and Lady and the Tramp (A Dama e o Vagabundo).

6th Bumper (1999-2002)


Visuals: On a black background that gradually fades to purple, the word "DiSNEY" in its corporate font, a green Mickey head, and two yellow ovals fly in and form the Disney Videos logo of the time, after which the respective bumper fades in.

Bumpers:

  • "Breve nos melhores cinemas." ("Coming soon to the best theaters.")
  • "Breve em vídeo." ("Coming soon to video.")
  • "Agora em vídeo." ("Now on video.")
  • "Prepare-se: o filme vai começar." ("Get ready: the movie is about to start.")

Variant: On the "Coming to Theaters" variant, the background stays black for the duration of the bumper, the green Mickey head is briefly present before fading out, and the words fly in and arrange themselves in the middle of the screen.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A majestic, dreamy fanfare with a Brazilian announcer saying the bumper.

Audio Variants:

  • On the 1999 Brazilian VHS release of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (O Rei Leão 2 - O Reino De Simba), the bumper is silent.
  • For the Feature Presentation variant, the fanfare is faster and in a higher pitch.

Availability: Seen on Brazilian Disney videos from this era such as The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (O Rei Leão 2 - O Reino De Simba) and Mulan. It also appeared on a Brazilian VHS release of The Sixth Sense (O Sexto Sentido), which was released by Hollywood Pictures and distributed by Buena Vista.

7th Bumper (2002–2005)


Visuals: On a blue starry background, there is the 2001-2008 Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo, fully-formed. After a few seconds, the logo zooms out and settles to the top of the screen, and the respective bumper fades in with a shining effect.

Bumpers:

  • "Breve nos cinemas" ("Coming to theaters")
  • "Já nos cinemas" ("Now in theaters")
  • "Já nas lojas" ("Now in stores")
  • "Breve nas lojas" ("Coming to stores")
  • "Próximos lançamentos" ("Upcoming releases")

Audio: Twinkling sounds and an announcer reading the bumper text.

Availability: Seen on Brazilian Disney VHS tapes from this era, such as A Very Merry Pooh Year (Ursinho Pooh: Um Ano Muito Feliz) and Finding Nemo (Procurando Nemo).

Chile

1st Bumper (1994-2005)


Visuals: Over footage from the cartoon Mickey's Birthday Party, the respective bumper text is in a yellow Arial font.

Bumpers:

  • Y AHORA SU PELICULA ("AND NOW YOUR MOVIE")
  • PREPARATE PARA VER UN AVANCE SORPRESA DESPUES DE LA PELICULA QUE AHORA COMIENZA. ("GET READY TO SEE A SURPRISE TRAILER AFTER THE MOVIE THAT'S BEGINNING NOW.")

Variant: The scene that plays differs in each variant.

Technique: Traditional cel animation with the text chyroned in.

Audio: The 1991 Italian bumper theme.

Availability: Seen on Buena Vista VHS tapes from Chile such as Hercules, Mulan, Toy Story 2 and Dinosaur (Dinosaurios).

2nd Bumper (1994-2005)
