WKID-TV, operated on channel 51, first aired itself on December 6, 1968, as WSMS-TV. But 2 years later, it was forced to go off-air because of engineering and financial difficulties. ONTV later demised themself in 1985, the station was sold to an another John Blair & Co., who later programmed it as a local, independent Spanish-language station, and renamed it to WSCV.
