Background

WJTC is an independent TV station that is licensed to Pensacola, Florida, and is owned by Deerfield Media, alongside with fellow NBC-afiliate WPMI which serves Mobie, Alabama. It signed on the air on December 24, 1984 as an independent station, and branded itself as "C44". The station then got affiliated with UPN in 1995, but became independent after it got passed over for both The CW and MyNetworkTV affiliation. It has branded itself as "UTV 44" ever since.

1st Logo (1991)

Visuals: Against a blue sky with clouds flying around, we see the CGI gold text "C44" pans itsef and flies to the center, with some shining on the logo while it's flying in. When the text stops at the center, it shines again, with a ray of lights moving below it and revealing the text "PENSACOLA-MOBILE-FT.WALTON" with the same color pallete as the "C44" text. The logo then shines multiple times before fading out.

Technique: CGI and some live-action with the background.

Audio: A relaxing guitar tune with an announcer saying: "This is the new C-44, WJTC, Pensacola-Mobile-Fort Walton Beach".

2nd Logo (1995-2002)

Visuals: There are two version:

  • Main Version: There is a gold rectangle with the word "WJTC" on it slides to the left, the number "44" slides to the right, a red rectangle slides up from the bottom, as well as the '95 UPN logo fades in on the left which slowly moves to the right, and a red and a blue rectangles appears on the right. Then, all of them zoom out and form the station's logo.
  • Generic Version: Against a clip of a random of location of Pensacola, Mobile or Ft. Walton Beach, we see the station's logo somewhere on the screen, and the text "PENSACOLA-MOBILE-FT. WALTON BEACH" is seen at the bottom either in black or white, depending on the variant.

Variants:

  • Main Version: There's at least two different background with this version: A clip of a drop 'bouncing' then 'floating' the surface of the mercury liquid, and a clip of sparkles falling all over an aluminum 'diamond tread' plate
  • Generic Version:
    • (a): There is the gate of the Naval Air Station Pensacola with a grass field and fountains shooting water beside it, the text below is white, and the station's logo is on the gate.
    • (b): On a beach or a river in Pensacola, a man rides his jet ski with houses and trees around, the bottom text here is white and the station's logo is at the bottom left.
    • (c): On the Pensacola bay with rocks at the right, we see the Pensacola Bay Bridge with transports moving on it, the bottom text here is black and the station's logo here is also at the left like before.

Technique: 2D animation for the main variant, live-action for the generic variant.

Audio:

  • Main Version: Each variant has their own seperate music, with the announcer saying: "You're watching WJTC, UPN 44, Pensacola, Mobile and Fort Walton Beach".
  • Generic Version: Here, each variant also has their own seperate music, with the announcer saying: "You're watching WJTC, UPN 44"

3rd Logo (2002-2006)

Visuals: Against a navy blue background, a ring appears and rotates itself, while a blurry line draws itself on the right. Two curve lines then fly forward and out of the screen, with the station's logo zooms in to the near-center. The word "PENSACOLA MOBILE FT. WALTON BEACH", wipes itself from right-to-left, which have the first letter of each words bigger than the other letters like the last ident, while an another blurry line draws itself across the screen behind. The background's animation then loops again, and the word "TURN IT UP" with a line below flies in below while spinning themself, and slightly turn themself when they stay in one place.

Technique: 2D computer animatiom.

Audio: The network's "Turn It Up" campaign music.

4th ID (2006-)

Visuals: Against a shiny blue background with white fog at the top, the camera flies through the close-ups of the word "UTV" letter-by-letter. Then, a thin curved blue layer and a big gray layer slide up from the bottom, with the blue layer slightly rotating itself while sliding up. The layers stop, and reveal the text "UTV44" on the Ft. Walton Beach which has waves moving around, with the texts "WJTC-TV" and "PENSACOLA MOBILE FT. WALTON" respectively being above and below the text "UTV44". After that, the wave splashes to the screen and then creates a fog below, and the shade of blue of the blue layer also slowly gets darker as the ident goes.

Variant: A shorter version also exists where here, it cuts the part from the wave splashes to the screen onwards.

Technique: CGI with live-actions with the beach.

Audio: A relaxing tune that has drum, electric guitar and synthesized sounds in it, couple with the announcer saying: "You're watching WJTC, UTV 44".

Audio Variant: The shorter version, also has a short variant of the same tune, with the announcer saying: You're watching WJTC, UTV 44. We join the following show in progress".
