1st Logo (Early-Mid 1980s?)

Visuals: On a blue background, a black rectangle abruptly appears. Then, several drawn multicolored copies of "VIDEO" in a perspective angle is drawn in. Shortly, "REX" is drawn in place of said words, aswell as "PRODUCCIONES" in a black bar. When finished, three small letters appear on the corner of the rectangle. Later on, "PRESENTA" is drawn in front of the logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A Jean-Michel Jarre-styled new-age theme, consisting of a synth bassline, accompanied by the laser zap, which segues into the synth string section, which drowns out the bassline. When the last chord is held, another lazer zap, which increases in the pitch instead of decreasing, followed by another one, but higher, and the held chord fades out, leaving only the bassline.

Availability: Spotted on the release of The Kings of France.

2nd Logo (Mid-Late 1980s)


Visuals: The first element shown is a blurry picture with yellow, green, and orange shades. The picture then focuses and zooms out, revealing the lime three-dimensional text that says "REX", with each letter connected, on a yellow background. Below it is several copies of the text "VIDEO". The logo stays on screen for 45 seconds before the beginning of the logo plays in reverse.

Technique: Motion-controlled animation.

Audio: Same as above.
