Video International (Russia)

Background

Video International was a Russian advertising agency that produced shows for the RTR (currently Russia-1) and NTV networks. In 1997, the "Video International" Production Center (Продюсерский центр "Видео Интернешнл") was formed as a production unit of the Video International group. This unit was later merged with the Keosayan brothers' Gold Vision in May 2000 to form Studio 2V (Studio 2B/Студия 2В) and was split off Video International, which would close down in 2016.

1st (known) Logo (January 6, 1992-January 13, 1998)

Visuals: On a grainy gray gradient background, six parts of an Earth globe, two pairs of them colored red, green, and blue, meet in the center of the screen and spin around. Then, a tubular silver "N" appears behind the globe and rotates toward the camera clockwise. It is later revealed to be a conjoined "VI". The map on the globe slowly dissolves away.

Variant: There is a short version that starts with the "VI" rotating.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: A THX "Deep Note"-like synth is heard as the pieces of the globe come together, followed by a dramatic synth fanfare. An announcer then says "Компания "Видео Интернешнл"... представляет" in Russian.

Availability: Was seen only in Russia at the beginning of certain VI-produced shows, like the early episodes of Своя игра (the Russian version of Jeopardy!).

2nd Logo (January 14, 1998-August 18, 2000)

Visuals: The sequence starts with the screen zooming out from Moscow at night, revealing the Krymsky Bridge at dusk. Several lights on the bridge begin to light up as "продюсерский центр" (in Optima font) appears above it in an arc fashion via a fading wipe from the left to right, along with "ВИДЕО ИНТЕРНЕШНЛ" (in the same font, albeit much taller) written below, flipping to the left letter-by-letter. The sky darkens a bit, and then the sequence fades out as "представляет" fades in.

Technique: CGI animation by Barguzin.

Audio: A magical-sounding synth fanfare with a synth choir. Some twinkling sounds are heard as the lights light up.

Availability: Once again, this could be found in Russia on Video International-produced shows, such as the aforementioned Своя игра of that era, but these episodes are long out of air. The logo can be found on some VHS releases distributed that time.
