1st Logo (Early 1980's-Late 1980's)

Logo:

  • Opening Variant: On a white background, there is the text "VCM" in the middle of the screen, with "INFORMASJON" on the bottom. The logo is colored with 3 shades of blue, being stacked on top of each other. The "C" and "M" are also connected. After a bit, a blue circle appears and engulfs the screen.
  • Closing Variant: In a room, there is a small monitor with part of the logo on it. After a bit, it then engulfs the screen, revealing the same logo from earlier, but with "(c) COPYRIGHT FOR SKANDINAVIA"

Technique: The Engulfing.

Music/Sounds: A funky bass line repeated 3 times before ending with an 3 note tune.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on their releases at the time.

2nd Logo (Late 1980's)

Logo: On a black background, the 3 parts of the VCM logo fly in and come together, along with many copies of it. When they stop, a light fills in the logo with the colors one by one. The outline then disappears and a flash appears over the logo, changing it into a 3D look alike in shiny purple. Under it is "VCM HAR TOPPFILMENE" as the logo shines twice.

Technique: 2D Animation.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh with 3 vacuum sounds is heard first. This is before 4 rising synth play in sync with the filling. One final whoosh can be heard before the logo ends.

Availability: See 1st Logo

Legacy: The eerie sounds, the strange animation, & the darkness can give an ominous vibe.

3rd Logo (1990's)

Logo: We start off as a gold background for 10 seconds. Then, a gold VCM logo rises up and shines wildly for a few seconds. After that, the logo zooms away, revealing it was a gold clapperboard on a blue background. The clapper slowly rises up as it turns into place. As it rests in the center of the screen, the clapper drops, causing the logo to shine wildly for a bit.

Technique: The logo rising up, the clapperboard, the shining.

Music/Sounds: An ominous tune, along with a boom then the clapper drops.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]
