Regarding your recent edit to AVID:Logos From 1951/Unknown date

Information icon Hi, Patrick McCarthy , 22. It appears you are engaging in an edit war at AVID:Logos From 1951/Unknown date. This is when users disagree over the content of an article and repeatedly revert each other's edits. This type of editing is disruptive and unproductive. Please discuss the issue on the article's talk page before editing further. Thank You. Camenati (talk) 15:24, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Draft articles

Hi, Patrick McCarthy , 22. I should ask you not to move the Draft articles I create into mainspace without asking me first. There are some inaccuracies and grammar errors I had found in your description for Venezuela Libre y Democrática that I had noticed and had to fix. I believe something like this has also happened before with the Draft:Canal 9 (Peru) page last week, but according to what was written in the User Reports page, that didn't feel report-worthy by the staff. But still, please let me know whenever you edit a draft page I want to make so I can go ahead and try to fix the errors in the description immediately and attempt to submit the article by myself. Thank you. SnowflakesOmega (talk) 03:00, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

A disclaimer from me

Hello, I must have to advice you that I do not want to keep editing and fixing every page you make. These last two weeks, most of my activities in this wiki have been trying to fix most of the errors I've found in your articles. In brief, here's all the stuff you don't seem to take attention towards:

  • You use a lot of odd grammar - i.e utilizing "saying" like if the text is speaking to the viewer, confusing certain words (like "expert" (someone with knowledge in a certain topic) with excerpt (an extract of something)), utilizing "then" too much, small errors in punctuation, utilizing "A opening theme of a movie" instead of using the word "the" like everyone else.
  • You do not add credits to the pages (just put your username in "compiled" as you're the one who's writing most of the article).
  • Lack of spaces or line breaks when adding categories.
  • Overlooking a lot of logo aspects or specifying them too much (especially with fanfares for the latter).

Please take notes of what I had written above and try to improve on how you write descriptions. I believe that, with the writing abilities you have, most of the pages you have created do not seem good enough to be added to Mainspace. Try to make drafts for the logos you're researching instead, and staff will guide you on how to improve like I'm advising you.

I don't want to bug you with this subject matter no further, so just take this as a reminder. Thanks in advance. Yuuko2K (talk) 03:44, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

Regarding use of vocabulary and POV

Hello, Patrick McCarthy , 22. Although your page creations to the wiki are appreciated, several users, including myself, have been taking note of your use of vocabulary, which makes the articles sound informal, specifically use of POV (one of your latest page creations unnecessarily use the word "obviously" and others describe an object as "suspicious") and you appear to not include enough research into your articles by referring to foreign dialogue as "X saying". Please check and consider your diction carefully so that it does not deter the quality of the articles. It is also desirable to research specific objects represented in the logo rather than referring them as simply foreign objects, as overcomplicating things are not only unnecessary, but may also miss a point of the Visuals section: to identify objects readers may not be familiar with. Thank you. Camenati (talk) 04:07, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

This is your second warning on use of POV terms with your recent page creation. Additionally, you appear to be importing a page over from the FANDOM CLG Wiki, whose editing structure and quality is different than that of AVID's. Please carefully examine the descriptions so that they do not violate editing guidelines. Plus, if the article contains in-credit text, then please do not import those sections as they are not considered logos. Camenati (talk) 04:57, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
A few users, including myself, are still taking issue with your lack of research and formality with some of your continued use of vocabulary (notably X-sounding fanfare and redundant use of "some"). I would like to ask you to please put some more consideration with your diction and research into identifying foreign text and instruments. Continued lack of formality may result in your page creation privileges being temporarily revoked. Camenati (talk) 07:41, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Indefinite sitewide block notice

Hello, Patrick McCarthy , 22. It has come to my attention you have been socking under a recently created account in order to publish this page. It shares the same characteristics as your other page creations from the problematic grammar (overuse of "then") to the file description and PageCredits structure being exactly like the way you upload files and write credits for pages. Because of this, you are no longer allowed to edit on the wiki. That is unless you can appeal to me or another admin either by claiming you were not socking with sufficient evidence to back that argument up or take a break for a while and demonstrate you have improved your behavior. If you continue to sock in the future, your talk page access might be revoked and your only way to appeal is through email. Thank you for your understanding.
