Background

Universal Music Malaysia is the Malaysian branch of Universal Music Group. Notable artists under this label include Siti Nurhaliza, Alvin Chong, Fauziah Latiff and others.

1st Logo (2014-2020)

Visuals: On a black background is the 1997 alt. Universal print logo, with "UNIVERSAL MUSIC MALAYSIA" written below it.

Variants:

  • On some promos, "UNIVERSAL MUSIC MALAYSIA" is written in blue.
  • Sometimes, the logo appears on a white background.
  • A variant exists, where ""Organiser:" is written on top of the logo.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be found on promotional videos from the company.

2nd Logo (2015-)


Visuals: It's the 1997 Universal print logo with "UNIVERSAL MUSIC MALAYSIA" written below it on a black background.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be found as an endcard for their promotional videos on their channel.

3rd Logo (2020-March 2, 2021)

Opening Visuals: In a very dark grey background, a grey line forms in the center, which then quickly morphs into a circle. This circle wobbles a bit, then transforms into a pair of headphones, which then blow into a set of soundwaves which move to the music. After a while, the soundwaves turn back to the circle, which then transforms into the print logo for Universal, with text reading "UNIVERSAL MUSIC MALAYSIA" appearing below it. Various lights and shapes pop out during the logo.

Closing Visuals: The print Universal logo zooms in on a black background, then glitches out and disappears.

Technique: Simple animation for both variants.

Audio: A simplistic tune for the opening logo and a catchy beat-type theme for the closing logo.

Availability:

Only appeared on some promotional videos on their channel. The last video to include this logo is the Siapa Tu?! video "Berada dalam industri muzik adalah satu cabaran".

4th Logo (March 9, 2021-)



Opening Visuals: On a black background, there is a neon pink power button which flashes into the print Universal logo as seen before. The logo then glitches out several times as colorful neon lights flash. The logo stops glitching as the background turns into a shady blue.

Closing Visuals: There is the print logo on a black background which flashes into the text "SUBSCRIBE NOW". The text then glitches out into the Universal print logo. The end product is the same as the opening logo.

Technique: Modern computer animation.

Audio: Techno music.

Availability: May be seen on promotional videos and live music performances uploaded on the company's YouTube channel starting with the music video for "NERACA".
