Background

Turner Original Productions was a renaming of TBS Productions, that was formed in 1995 by Pat Mitchell, to produce documentaries and non-fiction programs from the era for TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and TCM. It was later renamed to Turner Television in 2001 after producing content for The WB.

Logo (1995-2001)

Visuals: On a yellow-white gradient background, there is a simplistic globe, facing the Americas, behind a rotating black rectangle. A filmstrip is seen flying under the globe. When the black rectangle zooms out into a comfortable distance, the text "TURNER ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS" fades below.

Variant: A long version exists where it starts with a cartoon version of the globe and the filmstrip in the purple-yellow gradient background until the revealing of the finished logo.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A soft five-note trumpet and piano theme followed by a four-note descending solo piano tune.

Availability: It was seen at the end of Turner TV documentaries from the era, as well as some Turner Classic Movies documentaries.
