Background

The Saul Group was a broadcast syndication company ran by Neil B. Saul, handling acquisitions and sales to other distributors such as Worldvision Enterprises and SFM Entertainment.

(1988-1990)

Nickname: "Flashing S"

Logo: Against a black background, a pair of segmented red "S" shapes, shown extremely close, rise from the bottom of the screen. The smaller "S" below it is composed of thinner lines. As they zoom out, the smaller "S" overlaps the bottom of the larger "S", and both letters flash. The words "The Saul Group", in white, and with "Saul" in bold lettering, slide out from the right of the conjoined "S" shapes.

FX/SFX: The "S" shapes moving up, merging, and flashing.

Music/Sounds: A synth fanfare followed by a "bong" as the "S" flashes. If you listen closely at the end, you can hear a small whoosh.

Availability: Ultra rare. Only know to appear on the syndication package of the 1985-88 Care Bears series, which last aired on Toon Disney (now Disney XD). It is intact on one episode of said program as a bonus on the 2007 DVD of The Care Bears Movie (released to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary). The Saul Group were credited to other shows; Rambo: The Force of Freedom, The Centurions, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and Zoobilee Zoo, but this doesn't turn up on any of those shows, the latter two were distributed through SFM Entertainment and presumably The Saul Group only handled sales to television stations.
