TVA (Televisie Vrij Apeldoorn)

Background

TVA standing for Televisie Vrij Apeldoorn was a pirate television channel in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. TVA broadcast via the cable network in Apeldoorn, like many Dutch pirate channels of the era, which gave it a large reach. The channel mostly broadcast content focused on events and people in Apeldoorn, as well as promotions for local businesses. The channel was very popular with apeldoorners.

1st Logo (1981-1982)

Visuals: A camera zooms into a CRT television and the fuzzy letters "TVA" can be seen displayed on the screen. A blue screen with "TVA" and "televisie vrij apeldoorn" in white appears which then fades out. The letters "TVA" in red form in zoomed in, fuzzy version of the previous screen, followed by a red CRT shape forming and covering them up, which features text "televisie vrij apeldoorn postbus 3510". The screen gets engulfed by a red square, and "TVA" forms in the centre. The red wipes off the screen, leaving only the red underlined text "Postbus 3510". The line fades away, followed by the text. The camera zooms out and we see the original blue screen with "TVA" and "televisie vrij apeldoorn" again. The text "Postbus 3510" in black with red shading forms at the bottom. The blue screen fades out, leaving the black text, before it too disappears.

Variants: A variant exists featuring footage of a close up of a woman's butt in red shorts as she walks to a white house, the camera zooms out and the text "Volgende week bij TVA" in cyan appears.

2nd Logo (1981-1982)

Visuals: The text "TVA AKTUA" duplicates and warps over the screen with a green trail, yellow glow, and bursts of red and green appearing at random for several seconds before the text stops moving.
