Background

This was the production company of Steven Levitan. It was renamed to Levitan Productions in 2022.

1st Logo (March 4, 1997-January 11, 2006)

Logo: On a black background, we see a boxed live-action scene of a man and the little boy playing together. The man (believed to be the father) suspends the boy up in the air for about two seconds and brings him down and repeats it once again. The company name is seen below it with "in association with", all in white text.

Trivia: The video in the logo likely featured Steven Levitan's father and the young version of Steven himself. Notice that this logo came from an old memory shot on old film, which took place between 1965-1968.

Variant: On some shows, "in association with" is absent.

Technique: Live-action.

Music/Sounds: A 9-note clarinet tune followed by a child giggling. Original airings use a generic theme, sometimes with an announcer.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Oliver Beene, a different 5-note clarinet tune is heard with the same giggling sound, which ends in a guitar strum.
  • On Just Shoot Me, the closing theme of the show plays over it
  • There's a PAL pitched version of the music as well.

Availability: Seen on Just Shoot Me, Stark Raving Mad, Oliver Beene and Stacked.

2nd Logo (September 26, 2012-April 8, 2020)

Logo: On a white background, we see the same scene from the last logo (this time as a reel) and next to it is the company name in a tilted angle.

Technique: Same as the first logo.

Music/Sounds: The sound of a film reel rolling.

Music/Sounds Variant: On LA to Vegas, the closing theme of the show plays over it.

Availability: Seen on Modern Family (starting with the fourth season) and LA to Vegas.
