Background

This was the Indian division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment (previously Sony Music), which released primarily Bollywood movies on VCDs and DVDs.

Logo (2004-Late 2000s)

Visuals: On a moving background, a water like thing moves around and turns into blue spheres. They begin to drop on the floor and the camera pans up and zooms out to an electric blue background, where liquid silver is forming a circle with a stylized S creating a Sony Ericsson-like logo. It zooms out along with the electric blue surface which fades out as the black background turns to white. "Sony Music" in the Trade Gothic font appears warped in blue glitching until turning into black and normal. "digital home entertainment" appears letter-by-letter below the Sony Music text.

Variants: A variant exists where the text "SONY BMG" with "SONY" and "BMG" in their respective fonts appears letter-by-letter, turning from white with a blue glow to black. Two lines and a treble clef appear along with the text "DIGITAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT" creating the Sony BMG logo with "DIGITAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT" replacing "MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A whoosh followed by a synthesized rising note and bell chimes when the spheres are falling down. An Indian theme plays along with a synthesized whoosh and a rising note when the logo is forming. When the text appears, an electric wobble is heard.

Availability: Seen on releases like the 2004 DVD of Dil Chahta Hai.
