Background

This was a production company ran by producer Eugene B. Rodney and actor Robert Young.

1st Logo (October 3, 1954-May 23, 1962, May 15-December 18, 1977)


Visuals: There is a shield with "R" and "Y" in the Old English script font, with a banner reading "ARS PRO MULTIS" which is latin for "ART FOR MANY", taking up the whole screen. It then zooms out, which appears in the middle, and "A", above the shield, "RODNEY", next to the left side of the shield, "YOUNG", next to the right side of the shield, and "PRODUCTION", under the shield, fade in.

Variants:

  • This logo has also shown up with different shield colors and a different font.
  • On Window on Main Street, the logo has "Filmed at DESILU" (with "Desilu" in the studio's corporate font) below the logo.
  • On Father Knows Best: Home for Christmas, the text "In Association With" appears superimposed below after the logo is completely formed.

2nd Logo (September 15, 1958-May 23, 1960)


Visuals: The logo starts with "A", and under it, "Rodney●Young", in script, and under that, "PRODUCTION".

Technique: A printed graphic filmed by a cameraman.

Audio: The end theme of the show.
