Background

Pico-8 is a virtual machine and game engine created by Lexaloffle Games. It is a fantasy video game console that mimics the limited graphical and sound capabilities of 8-bit systems of the 1980s.

Logo (April 2015-)


Visuals: Over a black background, there are multicolored pixels covering the screen. Once it's done, the multicolored pixels reverted the covering and reveals the Pico-8 logo, which consists of the 8-bit Pico-8 with a rainbow star at the top-right. The text then appears underneath it.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: A 4-note 8-bit tune.

Availability: Seen when a virtual box Pico-8 is booted up.
