PakaPaka

Background

PakaPaka is an Argentine television channel and website providing shows and original programming for children ages 2 to 12 and their families. Launched initially as a programming section in the Encuentro television channel on September 23, 2007, and later as a digital terrestrial television and FTA channel on September 17, 2010, although regular transmissions begun on September 9. It is operated by Argentina's Ministry of Education.

1st Logo (2010-2015)

Visuals: In a white background, a box forms from the floor and opens itself, then eight letters (each one is inside a different square) form the logo. Then the text "El Poder de la imaginación" ("The power of imagination" in Spanish) appears.

Variant: On Horacio y los Plasticines, this logo is shown next to the logo for Zumbastico Studios (Sólo por las Niñas Audiovisual in earlier episodes).

Technique: Stopmotion and 2D digital animation.

Audio: Several cartoonish sounds.

Availability: Used to be in every show aired on the channel. After PakaPaka's first rebranding in November 2016, this logo was plastered. However, it can be found easily searching the oldest videos in their YouTube channel and it might be still present in some DVDs found in educational libraries in Argentina. The variant is kept intact on Horacio y los Plasticines.

Legacy: Quite simple but memorable logo.

2nd Logo (2015-2016)

Visuals: There is the letters of the PakaPaka's logo falling from above and the text "el poder de la imaginación" appearing. 2 seconds later, the text spins to reveal "www.pakapaka.gob.ar".

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: Sparkling sounds.

Availability: It's even harder to find on their YouTube channel, since it was used for a year.

3rd Logo (November 2016-May 25, 2020)

Visuals: Just the letters in the new logo forming.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: A 9-note happy vibraphone.

Availability: Unknown.

4th Logo (May 25, 2020-)

Visuals: Over a white background is multiple, multi-colored shapes rotate out of the ground, followed by more shapes coming out of the already-formed ones. Together, they form "PAKA PAKA". "INVENTAR EL MUNDO" in green then slides in below the logo.

Variants:

• A closing variant exists where the logo is on the left side of the screen whereas the copyright stamp fades in at the right.
• At the beginning of some episodes of La asombrosa excursión de Zamba this logo is behind some curtains that open, sometimes with Zamba popping in and smiling after the logo forms.

Technique: Once again, the letters forming. The addtition of opening curtains and Zamba appearing on the variant.

Audio: Stock sounds of cartoon drums and whooshes, followed by a kazoo fanfare. The closing variant has either a eight-note electronic jingle followed by a light sparkle when the copyright stamp appears or the ending theme of the show.

Audio Variant: On La asombrosa excursión de Zamba, the sounds are omitted and the logo starts with the kazoo theme.

Availability: This logo plastered many previous logos on current prints of La asombrosa excursión de Zamba.
