Logo (1986-1988)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a pink-colored outline drawing itself in while an "O", "r", "i", "g", "i", "n", and "a" zoom out and zoom in (out for the first, third, fifth, and seventh letters, and in for the second, fourth, and sixth letters), with the pink outline drawing a little loop at the top, then drops down to form an "l". When it stops, "Original", in a cursive font, (called "Harlow Solid Italic"), in a tilted position, zooms out with the orange-red-pink colored trails, and turns blue. The logo brightens, then darkens a bit when another bottom loop and "Video" (in a different font) wipe in, making the logo similar to the BBC's Top of the Pops logo from 1973-1986, and lights colored red, blue, yellow, and white appear. The logo then fades out (the lights follow a short time later), and a warning screen appears.

Technique: Scanimate for the letters zooming and the line drawing, possibly live-action for the flare.

Audio: A synth-keyboard disco tune. The song comes from the 1978 song "Just Blue" by the French electronica band Space off of the album of the same name.

Availability: Seen on some Greek VHS releases including one of Amazonia: The Catherine Miles Story.
