Megastar

Background

Megastar is a Saudi Arabian company based in Jeddah. The company is the local representative for Sony Music in Saudi Arabia.

Logo (Mid 1990s-Early 2000s)

Visuals: Against a space background, a 3D blue star with a yellow, orange and red arched rainbow is seen on an angle, spinning and zooming out. Above the star is the company name in Arabic, also in blue. The star places itself upright and stops zooming. After about a second, the star zooms back in and turns itself onto an angle, this time the star zooming in onto its bottom half. It zooms out again to show the company name in English above the star. After placing itself, a light wipes through the logo and it shines a few times.

Audio: A spacey synth tune.

Availability: Seen on Saudi Arabian tapes at the time including the 1998 Arabic VHS of Anastasia. It has also appeared on releases from Columbia/Tristar Home Video.
