Background

This is the production company of filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

1st Logo (November 2, 2002-May 1, 2005; May 23, 2023-)

Logo: On a greenish background, there is a ribbon with the words "LORD MILLER", and below it is a drawing of a coat-of-arms with two lions and some lines. There's also two circles, which feature Christopher and Phil themselves, as they turn their heads to the camera, we see that they have false mustaches on their mouths. Below the two photos are ribbons with the words "FINE" and "MOUSTACHES".

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • On season two of Clone High, the logo retains its original 4:3 aspect ratio on a 16:9 screen. The logo is extended by another second, even seeing Phil Lord turning his head back briefly.

Technique: Live-action.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show or three off-key tuba notes (sounding much like farts).

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On season two of Clone High, it uses the 2nd logo's theme.
  • On the Clone High episode "Spring Broken", it's the sound of a dolphin chirping.

Availability: Seen on Clone High and the failed pilot of Awesometown.

2nd Logo (March 1, 2015-)

Logo: On a green flag that waves, there is a shield (similar to the coat of arms from the previous logo) divided in three parts, two squares and a rectangle. The first square features a red and gold square pattern, the second one, a double-head gold dolphin, and the rectangle, a gold mustache. Below it is "Lord Miller" in a script font.

Variants:

  • A still version exists, sometimes on a black background.
  • At the end of The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, the logo shares the screen with the Lin Pictures (later Rideback) and Vertigo Entertainment logos.
  • A version exists where the text is replaced with "L" and "M" on opposite sides of the shield. This is used as an opening logo on theatrical films by the company.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: A 6-note toy car horn tune.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • In some cases, the logo is silent, or has the opening theme of the film.
  • On early episodes of The Last Man on Earth, dolphin noises can be heard.

Availability: Current.

  • Seen on The Last Man on Earth, the pilot episode of Son of Zorn, Making History, Brigsby Bear, Bless the Harts, Hoops, The Afterparty, Cocaine Bear and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
  • Also appeared at the end of Lego-related films from The Lego Batman Movie to The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, as well as America: The Motion Picture.
  • It does not appear on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse or The Mitchells vs. the Machines, as they use an in-credit notice instead.

3rd Logo (September 25, 2016-February 19, 2017)

Logo: On a black background is the same shield from before, now with purple colors. It zooms out while quickly turning around as the text in the same font as before is written by a laser.

Variant: Starting with episode 9, the animation is slowed down.

Technique: CGI by Titmouse.

Music/Sounds: A synthesized arrangement of the previous logo's theme by the duo's collaborator Mark Mothersbaugh, with two laser sounds at the end.

Availability: Seen on episodes 2-13 of Son of Zorn; this was used in tandem with the previous logo.
