Background

Kuo Hwa Motion Picture Co., Ltd. (國華影業有限公司) was a film production company, registered in Hong Kong but mainly operated in Taiwan.

1st Logo (June 28, 1969-1982?)

Visuals: On a blue marbled background, there is a stylized five-petaled flower, flanked by the letters "國華" (reading right-to-left). Underneath the flower is the following, with the Chinese name also reading right-to-left:

Variants: Starting in the mid-1970s, the letters are more spaced out.

Technique: A still live-action image.

Audio: A dramatic fanfare, which was also used by Sony on their demonstration tape.

Availability: First seen on The Beautiful Swordsman. Later appeared on films including The Begging Swordsman, The Black Justice, and others.

2nd Logo (June 13, 1978)

Visuals: On a white-yellow gradient background, multiple circles in different colors of the rainbow spin about. The circles morph into a five-petaled stylized red flower which continues to spin. After it stops spinning, two three-dimensional blue Chinese characters "華國" zoom in to the sides of the screen, sandwiching the flower. "影業有限公司" reading right-to-left wipes in below in blue, followed by "KUO HWA MOTION PICTURE CO., LTD." wiping in under it.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Seen on Strike for Mantis Fist.
