Background
On May 5, 2020, NTC issued a cease and desist order on ABS-CBN, causing its television and radio stations to shut down, after their 25-year franchise had expired the previous day. On June 4, 2020, it was announced that Kapamilya Channel will air programs from ABS-CBN such as Ang Probinsyano and ASAP Natin 'To on cable and satellite TV providers nationwide. Kapamilya Channel launched on June 13, 2020 at 5:30am, starting with a Daily Mass, and also airing old programs formerly broadcasted on the network. Kapamilya Channel is a pay television network serving as a replacement for ABS-CBN's free-to-air television network.
