Background

KIKU is a multi-cultural independent TV station based in Hawaii, serving the Hawaiian islands. KIKU's programming consists primarily of programs in Japanese and Filipino, some syndicated programming, and local news from KITV.

(1994)

Visuals: Over a cloudy sunset in an ocean, the words "KIKU" in a silver texture zoom out and place letter by letter followed by a drop shadow. The channel's number in lavender writes in whilst zooming out to settle place, and the lower tip of the "2" extends to form a stylized purple chrysanthemum flower symbol. "Honolulu, Hawaii" fades in below.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A soft piano theme with flutes, followed by a Japanese announcer.
