Background

Jogwheel Productions, known as ideoProductions until August 2011 and Straight to Video Productions until 2006, is an American new media production company founded by Jonathan Paula in April 2006, in Rockingham, New Hampshire. They are currently registered to Disney Digital Network (now Disney Advertising Sales).

Straight to Video Productions

(2006-2007)

Logo: Just the words "A", "STRAIGHT TO VIDEO", and "PRODUCTION", in a futuristic font, stacked on top of each other.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: A one-note synth drone or the closing theme.

Availability: Seen on the very first videos the channel made.

ideoProductions

1st Logo (2006)

Logo: On a black background, we see the text "ideo ))) productions", in white with a red outline. A copyright notice appears below.

Technique: The credits scrolling.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: Used on some early videos.

2nd Logo (2007-2008)

Logo: On a black background, we see the word "ideo", in blue, with four closed-parenthesis symbols resembling sound waves "))))", stacked on top of the word "productions", next to "roduc". Below is a copyright notice.

Variants: The copyright notice was originally in Roman numerals.

Technique: The logo fading in and zooming slowly.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: Appeared on the first four seasons of Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This?, alongside other videos made by Jogwheel at this time.

3rd Logo (2008-2009)

Logo: Over a backdrop in the shape of a wormhole, we see the familiar ideoProductions logo from before, this time in 3D.

Variants:

  • On the Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This? episode "Is It a Good Idea to Microwave Thermite?", the "8" transforms into a "9", referencing the start of the new year.
  • On the Submarine Torpedo Attack video, the logo is in black and white.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: Appeared on videos made during this time period.

4th Logo (2010-2011)

Logo: The background varies depending on the video. Over the background we see the same text from the previous two logos, this time in one line on the bottom of the screen.

Technique: Depends on the episode.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: Appeared on The World According to Jon, Jon's Adventure Vlog and Jonathan Paula Presents: Game Time.

5th Logo (2011)

Logo: On a blue gradient background we see the ideoProductions logo from the previous three logos, except "ideo" is much larger than usual and a shadow can be seen behind the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: First appeared in the 26th episode of Movie Night with Jonathan Paula, and last appeared in the series finale of Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This?.

Jogwheel Productions

(2011-2013)

Logo: On a black background, we see a soft gray haze in the center. Over it, we see the Jogwheel Productions logo, composed of a large "J" and two lines of smaller text, the first being "OGWHEEL", with the "O" being the shape of a cog with a play button inside it, and "PRODUCTIONS", in a thinner font, below it.

Variant: On the Roller Coaster Commotion episode "Sierra Sidewinder", the text "2011" changes to "2012", referencing the start of the new year.

Technique: TBA.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme.

Availability: First appeared in a video about the re-branding of ideoProductions, and last appeared in the 109th episode of Movie Night with Jonathan Paula.

Final Note: As of 2013, Jogwheel no longer uses a logo at the end of their programming, but however, as of 2019, the Jogwheel logo appeared for the final time in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker review before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
