Background

InterAction Studios is the company who made the Chicken Invaders franchise, based in Athens, in Greece. The company was founded by Konstantinos Prouskas, has existed since 1992 and uses its Ultra VGA Engine to make its games. Their games have been ported on a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, and have been downloaded millions of times. Aside from Chicken Invaders, they've made other games, such as Piggly, Loco, Smileyville, Christmas Eve Crisis and Island Wars. You may check out their website here.

1st Logo (1992-1993)

Note: This was the first iteration of the InterAction Software/Studios logo, used more often as easter eggs than in the game intros.

Visuals: There is a symbol that resembles the letter A with its left part cut out to resemble "i", forming "iA".

Technique: Sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was used more often as easter egg. Seen on some earliest games, such as Tom Risk and Radar Wars Gold.

2nd Logo (1994)

Visuals: On the black background is a stone plaque with the yellow-red brush-painted "iA" and the stacked words "INTERACTION software" in the Handel Gothic font below. The screen fades to black, and the fuchsia-blue word "presents" in the Freestyle Script font.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Seen on games developed using the first version of their VGA Engine, like BattleTank.

3rd Logo (1995-1998)

Visuals: On the black background is the same stacked words from before at the bottom, but in the Optima font and "InterAction" is written in camel case. The "iA" from before draws in above them.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on games made in UVE32 and UVE++, such as Radar Wars Arcade, as well as the "concept" of the very first Chicken Invaders game for the DOS.

4th Logo (1999-2011)

Variant: Starting on 2002, the "iA" is now shifted slightly to the top-right, "InterAction" is now set in the Eurostile font, and "software" is now "STUDIOS" in the Myriad font.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: "Mellow Rise" from Network Music's ShockWave music library.
