Background

The Media Development Authority (MDA) was a statutory board of the Singapore Government, under the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI). MDA was formed on January 1st, 2003, which was later dissolved on October 1, 2016 with CEO founder Gabriel Lim, and Niam Chiem Meng, Chairman. It merged with the Infocomm Development Authority to form Infocomm Media Development Authority.

Logo (2001-2003)

Visuals: There is the Singapore Broadcasting Authority (SBA) logo which consists of a blue/red streaked curved comet touching a red dot to the far left side out of behind of the letter "S", and the "SBA" text appears in front and inside of the red comet and dot on the left. The letters:

S B A

all space out together and spread their position to match the pace for these outer designs for this logo, respectively. The logo draws itself in, and shines.

Variants: Above might appear text in one of Singapore's official languages, like Tamil.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None, or the closing theme of the show.

Availability: This is used on older SBA produced shows. Currently, it's only known on-screen appearances are the Tamil TV series Ottam and the English series Restless, both from 2001; only the Tamil version has surfaced online.

Availability: Seen on most Singaporean programmes from 2011-2016, which can be accessed on MeWatch.

The shapes move to the left and the triangle splits forming two more triangles, which slide into place, forming the "M" in the logo. "INFOCOMM MEDIA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY" in purple slides in from the left, line-by-line.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A short piano theme.

Availability: This can be seen on most Singaporean programming since 2016.
