Background
Great Southern Television is a New Zealand television production company with offices in Auckland and Sydney. The company specialises in drama, factual, and comedy and also produces light entertainment and reality shows. It was launched on June 1, 2002, and is owned by Philip Smith and Sir David Levene. Smith is a former journalist on the London Financial Times and is the GSTV management executive. Sir David Levene is a former retail magnate and a New Zealand Rich Lister.
Logo (November 30, 2003-)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a rectangle that depicts live-action footage of two Holstein cows with some long grass in front of them. A white line moves in from the left and stops at the center. As this happens, letters fade in to form "GREATSOUTHERN" joined together with the former word in the same color as the line and the latter word in blue before it shines across.
